Dr. Tony McDonald is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the director of the Human Factors and Machine Learning Lab. His research focuses on identifying synergies between human factors methods and models and machine learning that can be used to improve health outcomes and transportation safety. Dr. McDonald was a recipient of …
Ranjana Mehta’s research examines the mind-motor-machine nexus using a novel neuroergonomics approach to understand, monitor, and predict human performance under fatigue and stress. With these predictions, research in her lab focuses on developing closed-loop human augmentation technologies (sensory, neural, physiological) for safety-critical applications (emergency response, space exploration, and oil and gas). Projects in her lab …
Pikul’s research group seeks to make transformative advances in energy storage, energy conversion, multifunctional materials, and robotics by understanding and exploiting nanoscale to macroscopic characteristics of electrochemistry and soft matter. His electrochemistry work in particular fits strategically between the department’s efforts in energy storage and robotics.
