This social robot was designed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. in 2003 to function as an agent that could work with people in roles such as a receptionist, instructor, or assistant.
Since it is mobile and supports gesturing, this robot is frequently used when a more humanoid set of characteristics and behaviors are required.
