Outreach
We believe in extending the impact of our research and teaching to the broader public, inspiring as many individuals as possible. In embrace of the Wisconsin Idea, we strive to make a difference outside of the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s campus community with the following activities:
OPEN OUR LABS TO THE PUBLIC
We offer tours to anyone and encourage people to visit our labs. We believe that opening our institution will help make us a stronger community.
EARLY ENGAGEMENT IN SCIENCE
For kids, science isn’t always palatable. That’s why we make an extra effort to show them the fun side of programming your own robot.
TEACH EVERYWHERE
Just like our research, we aren’t confined to the classroom. We use outreach opportunities to teach everywhere.
Grandparent’s University
A two-day session held in July, grandparents and grandkids learn about what it means to be social, how our behavior affects our interactions, and what the field of social robotics looks like, all while bonding and having fun.
